Hello, how are you? I am the original huh, click on the attention, more exciting content waiting for you!
From affordable flagships to foldable smartphones, there will be no shortage of exciting upcoming phones in the year ahead. Looking forward to the yearly smartphone releases ahead? From affordable plebeian phones to new flagships to folding phones, the year has already yielded a ton of shiny new handsets. But you're probably here to find out what's coming up, so here are our best upcoming phones.
I've rounded up the following confirmed, probable and rumored releases for 2023, so you can make a new plan when buying a phone. Let's take a look together.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Series
There is no doubt that Samsung's next flagship series will be the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. Or, more specifically, the Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The current information is based on a rumor which states that while there won't be drastic visual changes, there will be some hardware improvements. Rear lenses these could include a 200 MP primary camera and a 40 MP front-facing selfie camera. Our number one wish is for faster charging as we've been spoiled by the 65W+ fast charging tricks of other phones from OnePlus, Xiaomi and others.
If you want to place a smart bet on the Galaxy S23's release date, a February 2023 release and launch would be a good starting point considering past events.
Apple iPhone 15
There aren't many rumors about the iPhone 15. Fortunately, it will be released in September 2023 as Apple's release date is very consistent with the release date.
We'd love to see the fancy Dynamic Island notch applied to the base iPhone 15 model. We'd also love to see 8K video recording, as well as a periscope zoom camera to better match the lossless 10x optical zoom offered by the powerful Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
At this point, if the latest rumors are to be believed, we may see the release of the iPhone 15 Ultra instead of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Time will tell which ones are true ......
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5
Given that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the best folding phone Samsung has ever made, it would be a shame if they ended it there.
They most likely won't. That's why we're glad to see Z Fold 5 coming to town in the coming hours. There are very few rumors around at the moment.
But we'd like to see a slimmer design, faster charging and a built-in S-Pen to take advantage of drawing and doodling on its unfolding spread display.
OPPO Dragonfly
OPPO's first foldable phone earned four stars in our long-term test.Part of the appeal of the OPPO Find N is that it fits comfortably in your pocket, but still offers a flagship foldable experience. Taking it a step further, rumors are now swirling that OPPO is working on a flip device to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Said to be codenamed Dragonfly, there are no clear specs yet. But word on the street suggests its design will mimic other flip phones. As such, it should be the size of the palm of your hand when closed, then flipped open to reveal a tall and narrow flexible main display.
We expect it to feature the latest Qualcomm chip and offer a 120Hz refresh rate on the internal screen. If the OPPO Find N is anything to go by, it should be priced more competitively than Samsung's folding model. It's being touted to launch alongside the OPPO Find N2 before the end of the year.
Huawei P60 Pro
The Huawei P50 Pro, launched last year, is a bit of an oddity. A photographic powerhouse, it benefits from four powerful cameras with tons of megapixel lenses between them. This includes a periscope lens that offers 200x digital zoom.
Will its successor be better? Only time will give the answer. The Huawei P60 Pro and Pro Plus are said to be released later in 2022, although recent rumors are far from concrete.
Building on previous Pro phones, the Huawei P60 Pro will likely come with some powerful camera suites, as well as a fairly large full-screen experience.
But little is known about the exact specs of the Huawei P60 Pro, let alone when or if it will hit the market ahead of the OPPO Blighty.
Xiaomi 13
Xiaomi usually launches its new flagship smartphones at the beginning of the year time, but this festive schedule could be brought forward to early 2023. Some analysts predict that we could see the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro land in February or March.
This is probably the best speculation. Right after the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, industry rumors claim that the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will continue Xiaomi's partnership with Leica.
So we expect it to come with some powerful camera hardware. This will be guided by a 50MP primary sensor. Other Intel is hard to come by, but sources say both phones will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip as the Xiaomi Mi 12S Ultra.
