Hello, how are you? I am the original huh, click on the attention, more exciting content waiting for you!
While none of us would intentionally drop our smartphones in water, accidents do happen. Cell phones are everywhere, so cell phone manufacturers have found ways to make them waterproof.
We use the term "waterproof" in this article because it's a commonly used term, but no phone is 100% waterproof - even though the phone you buy may have an IP rating, cell phone companies mostly don't cover water damage under warranty. Keep reading to find out the best waterproof phones.
Best Waterproof iPhone: Apple iPhone 14 Pro
The best iPhone you can buy today has the best water resistance rating of any phone, but it's worth noting that every iPhone 14 model also has an IP68 rating.
iPhone 14 Pro is our pick because of its premium stainless steel build, the spirit state island that makes smartphone bangs really useful, great camera, great battery life, and at least five years of software support since its release in late 2022.
Best waterproof Android phone: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Even though the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a huge slot for inserting a physical stylus, it is completely waterproof to an IP68 rating. That's admirable.
You're paying a higher price for the S23 Ultra compared to the equally waterproof Samsung Galaxy S23 and Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus.
But you get a larger, better quality display, a great set of four rear cameras, amazing battery life, and the best performance Samsung phones have ever seen. We think it's worth it.
Cheaper waterproof iPhone: Apple iPhone 14
If you don't want a Pro iPhone, iPhone 14 is a great "normal" phone that's IP68 waterproof.
Its two main cameras and ultra-wide angle camera take great photos, the display is bright and clear, the battery life is long, and it will get years of software support.
Now the slow 60Hz refresh rate is a bit of a shame, but otherwise this is a top-notch phone.
Best waterproof folding phone: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
Even with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 folded, Samsung still manages to give it an IPX8 rating, which means it's completely waterproof (though not dustproof!) .
We like this little phone because it costs the same as a boring old tablet phone, it folds down to a more portable size, and uses its midway bend for some cool software tricks, like using the phone itself as a stand for video calls.
With a rugged camera and longer battery life than previous models, it's the one to go for if you want a folding phone in 2023.
Best waterproof main camera phone: Xiaomi 13 Pro
Completely waterproof with one of the most amazing camera phones we've ever tested on a cell phone? Yes, please see.
Xiaomi's software may not be as fun to use compared to other Android phones, but when the primary camera sensor is this good, we're happy to forgive it.
Xiaomi 13 Pro has a 1-inch lens, which means more detail in your shots. Combined with top-notch performance and an extremely fast 120-watt charge, this high-end phone lets you leave your DSLR at home.
Samsung's other best waterproof phones: Samsung Galaxy S23
If you want one of Samsung's top phones but don't want the size and stylus of the S23 Ultra, then both the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus are great options.
I prefer the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus for its great display and battery life, but even if you get the smaller Samsung Galaxy S23, you still get great performance and battery life thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
The smaller one does charge slower, and neither comes with a charger in the box, but if you want a high-end Android phone with five years of software support, this is one of them.
Best waterproof Android phone backup: Xiaomi 13
It lacks the top-of-the-line camera of the Samsung 13 Pro, but the Xiaomi 13 is still a premium flagship alternative to the Galaxy S23 or iPhone 14.
It has a flat screen, an elegant flat-edge design and the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for surprisingly good performance.
If you want a waterproof phone that your friends will ask you about, this is a top shout. It has three years of software support from launch - not as good as Samsung or Apple.
