This is my most direct impression after 7 days of testing the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. This phone is the most mature and complete Fold generation Samsung has made to date.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, it’s not perfect. With a starting price of over ten thousand RMB, it clearly falls into the high-end, even luxury category. But even so, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 still has many appealing aspects. Its form factor, feel, finish, and overall experience clearly demonstrate that Samsung understands very well where this type of device should be headed.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you have a sufficient budget, are willing to pay this price, and are interested in any aspect such as a large screen, multitasking, or a foldable form factor, then the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is still a product worth serious consideration.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a significant improvement in many ways, but its design is perhaps the biggest area where Samsung has made a real change this year. I’ll explain why later, but first, I have to say that this year’s color options are rather dull: blue, silver, and deep black.<\/span><\/p>\n

In any case, all things considered, Samsung has made the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 thinner and lighter than any foldable phone I’ve ever used. It aligns with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which emphasizes its slimness and lightness. At 215 grams, it feels very comfortable to hold for a phone with two large displays; it’s actually lighter than the S25 Ultra.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is only 8.9 mm thick when folded and only 4.2 mm thick when unfolded. You really have to see it and hold it to believe it. Over the years, I’ve reviewed some tablet-style foldable devices, and none of them feel as good in the hand as this one.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 8-inch internal display is still great for watching videos on the go, while the 6.5-inch external display works perfectly as a regular phone when you don’t want to unfold it. When the phone is unfolded, you barely notice any creases.<\/span><\/p>\n

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Performance<\/span><\/h1>\n

Let’s take a look at the key specifications first. According to GeekBench 6 testing, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 scored approximately 9,600 points in the multi-core test, which is still among the top-tier performance in the current high-end smartphone market.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, benchmark scores are only a reference; the actual user experience is more important. Simply put, no matter what you use it for, the Fold 7 performs very smoothly. Apps launch quickly, and there is no noticeable lag when running multiple tasks simultaneously. Even after continuous use for a period of time, the device’s temperature remains stable, without any worrying overheating issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

This experience is very much in line with the “Fold series”: the performance isn’t flashy, but it’s always on point. You won’t be bombarded with specs, but in daily operations, heavy multitasking, or split-screen use, it almost never lags behind.<\/span><\/p>\n

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Camera<\/span><\/h1>\n

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 represents a significant upgrade in its camera capabilities. The biggest change comes from the rear main camera, where Samsung has opted for a 200MP wide-angle lens, a substantial improvement over the previous generation’s 50MP. The entire imaging system consists of a 2MP wide-angle main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens supporting 3x optical zoom. Each of the internal and external screens features a 10MP selfie camera.<\/span><\/p>\n

Actual shooting experience also confirms the significance of this hardware upgrade. The new 200MP main camera performs quite stably in daily photography, producing clear images with rich details. The color style remains Samsung’s forte, looking pleasing without being bland.<\/span><\/p>\n

It also performs well in close-up shooting, easily producing clean and sharp images when photographing flowers, plants, or other detailed subjects.<\/span><\/p>\n

In terms of night photography, the Fold 7 performs reassuringly. While traces of algorithmic intervention are still visible in some scenarios, it maintains a relatively ideal level of brightness and detail in low-light environments. Even in very poor lighting conditions, it can capture highly usable photos, a feature uncommon in foldable phones.<\/span><\/p>\n

In terms of zoom, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 supports up to 30x digital zoom. To be honest, the image quality at this zoom level isn’t great, but that’s a problem that almost all phones face.<\/span><\/p>\n

The image is still technically recognizable, but the details are clearly filled by algorithms. If you have high requirements for image quality, this level is more of an “emergency use”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Battery<\/span><\/h1>\n

What truly disappointed me about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 was its battery performance. Looking at the specifications alone, a 4,400mAh battery isn’t small; it’s fairly common in today’s smartphones. Considering power consumption control and chip efficiency, battery life shouldn’t have been a major concern. However, it turns out I may have underestimated the power demands of this large-screen foldable phone.<\/span><\/p>\n

When tested according to Mashable’s standard procedure, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 achieved approximately 20 hours of battery life. Of course, this type of test is more geared towards extreme scenarios and is not entirely equivalent to daily use. In normal use, it might be possible to extend the battery life a bit further, but the overall performance is still not outstanding.<\/span><\/p>\n

It should be noted that this is not a “bad” battery; it can still support a full day of basic use, but it is hard to feel reassured about its reliability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 worth buying?<\/span><\/h1>\n

Battery issues aside, this is a very good foldable phone. I think if you can afford the price, then you’ve probably already found your next phone.<\/span><\/p>\n

As long as no significant durability or long-term technical issues arise during subsequent use, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is very likely to become a reliable everyday main phone that can be used with peace of mind for several years.<\/span><\/p>\n
