Referring to previous leaks, they specifically mentioned the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra and claimed it will use a variant of the HPA (High Pixel Aperture Panel) sensor called HP6.<\/span><\/p>\n

Interestingly, this particular component is said to be the same size as the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s main sensor (1\/1.3 inches), but with performance levels comparable to the aforementioned HPA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previously, there were speculation that the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra would bring a major upgrade to the stylus. However, according to a new report, this upgrade doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon.<\/span><\/p>\n

As background, EMR technology allows the S Pen to work without a battery. The phone’s display contains a dedicated digitizing board layer capable of tracking the pen tip with astonishing precision. However, the system relies on magnetic fields and can be affected by built-in magnets or even magnetic accessories.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another approach, Active Electrostatic Stability (AES), takes a different approach. It eliminates the stylus sensing layer, instead relying on a stylus powered by a built-in battery to interact directly with the touchscreen, similar to the Apple Pencil. Because AES does not rely on magnetic tracking, the strong magnetic alignment magnets inside the phone should not significantly impact its performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

This could ultimately allow Samsung to integrate magnets directly into the phone without interfering with the S Pen’s functionality, a problem that has plagued earlier Galaxy S flagship models when used with magnetic phone cases.<\/span><\/p>\n

Interestingly, Samsung reportedly worked on a hybrid solution that combined these two approaches. The idea was to remove the digitizer layer while still maintaining a battery-free stylus design.<\/span><\/p>\n
