Hello, hello! I am Yuan Hehe, please follow me, more exciting content is waiting for you Cameras for Photography 2025
With mirrorless cameras, action cameras, 360-degree cameras, and even drones becoming so advanced these days, capturing the perfect moment has never been easier, and I’ve tried all the best cameras currently available.
From instant cameras that can capture nostalgic moments, to video cameras designed to capture every minute of your life, to film cameras for those who prefer the classic way, you have a lot of options when it comes to documenting your life or even just the world around you.
I’ve reviewed all the latest cameras, drones, and more for 2025. Below, I’ve highlighted my favorite cameras from this year, which have helped us capture life’s most beautiful moments in the best way possible. Of course, since I haven’t gotten my hands on the DJI Osmo 360 yet, it’s not included in this ranking.
Best mirrorless camera: Nikon Z5II
Over the past year, I’ve personally reviewed some of the best cameras on the market—from the affordable Kodak PIXPRO WPZ2 to the pricey, beastly Fujifilm GFX100 II. It’s no exaggeration to say that the Nikon Z5II falls somewhere between these two extremes, and that’s precisely its strength.
The Nikon Z5II is an exceptional mirrorless camera. Equipped with a 24-megapixel full-frame sensor, it delivers sharp, detailed images and exceptional control. Furthermore, it boasts professional-grade features uncommon in its price range, such as dual card slots and subject recognition autofocus.
You might think the Nikon Z5II’s price is high, but in the world of mirrorless cameras, it’s actually quite reasonable. Its price is significantly lower than the Canon EOS R6 Mark II and Sony A7 IV, and in terms of image quality, feature configuration, and overall user experience, the Nikon Z5II is in no way inferior.

Whether you’re a beginner photographer, a seasoned enthusiast, or a creator on the path to professionaldom, the Z5II is a versatile camera worth serious consideration. Of the many mirrorless cameras we’ve tested this year, it’s undoubtedly the most balanced and satisfying.
Best action camera: DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro
For a while now, GoPro, once the king of the action camera market, has seemed to be resting on its laurels, riding the coattails of its brand recognition. Each new GoPro product has been virtually identical to the previous one, and this lack of momentum has given GoPro’s competitors room to take off.
No camera embodies this better than the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, which is currently the best action camera you can buy. Its predecessor, the Osmo Action 4, was a great camera, but a distant second. The Osmo Action 5 Pro is simply amazing.
With improved and superior stabilization, best-in-class battery life, and a delightfully gorgeous OLED display, the Osmo Action 5 Pro is a high-end professional action camera through and through.

It tops out at 4K resolution, which can be limiting if you heavily crop or oversample your footage, but for most users, 4K/60p is more than enough. Even better, the Osmo Action 5 Pro is more affordable than its competitors, the GoPro Hero 13 Black and the Insta360 Ace Pro 2.
Best 360-degree camera: Insta360 X5
In fact, Insta360 didn’t even need to release the X5. After all, its predecessor, the Insta360 X4, is already the best 360-degree camera on the market. Not only is it incredibly powerful, it’s also the only consumer-grade 360 camera to support 8K resolution and can also shoot 4K 16:9 video, making its overall performance practically impeccable.
But the Insta360 X5 is still a revelation. While building on the excellent foundation of the X4, it also achieves qualitative leaps in several key areas, firmly securing its title as the “most powerful 360 camera.”
The X5 still supports panoramic shooting up to 8K, but this time, Insta360 has equipped it with a new, larger sensor, significantly improving low-light imaging performance, resulting in clearer, more natural images with superior detail. In actual use, its performance in night scenes and indoor environments is truly impressive.

Regarding audio, the X5 features an upgraded microphone array and wind noise suppression technology. In our testing, its recording performance in outdoor environments was particularly outstanding, effectively suppressing background wind noise and allowing the subject’s voice to be heard more clearly. Combined with a new battery system, its battery life has also been improved compared to its predecessor, further enhancing its practicality.
Another practical upgrade is the X5’s interchangeable lens design, eliminating the need for lens hoods like the X4, thus avoiding negative impacts on image quality. This not only increases shooting freedom but also creates clearer images with more realistic details.

Overall, the Insta360 X5 is truly the “ultimate 360 camera.” It’s not just excellent, it’s even better than it already was. It deserves all the top awards and is undoubtedly the most worthwhile panoramic camera to buy this year.
Best Instant Camera: Fujifilm Instax mini 41
Instant cameras are just as fun today as they were when they first came out, and Fujifilm’s Instax series still seems to be leading the way. The Fujifilm Instax mini 41 has been hailed as the best instant camera of 2025, and for good reason: it’s the easiest, most user-friendly, and produces beautiful photos.
The Fujifilm Instax mini 41 offers intuitive operation, a simple control scheme, and a dark design. Similar to the Fujifilm Instax mini 12, but more suitable for adults, it delivers richly detailed images and features a selfie mirror and macro mode for even more creative expression. Its long battery life means you can use it for hours.

The Fujifilm Instax mini 41 deserves its place on this list for its faithful color reproduction and full display of Fujifilm’s accurate color science.
Best Drone: DJI Air 3S
Last year, DJI launched the Neo, Flip, and Mavic 4 Pro to overwhelming success, but only one drone could take the crown: the DJI Air 3S. That means the Air 3S has become the gold standard—and it’s even more affordable, too.
Get the best value for your money! A dual-camera system lets aerial and travel photographers easily capture wide-angle and mid-telephoto footage. A large 1-inch sensor delivers exceptional low-light performance. Next-generation obstacle avoidance. AI subject tracking with short-range flight mode. Smooth 4K/60fps video and detailed 48MP stills. Everything is under your control.

We also really like the Air 3S’s RC-2 controller’s incredibly bright 700-nit display, which is incredibly easy to use. You can edit your videos in real time using the controller or save them securely to the drone’s 42GB of internal storage. This drone has so much potential that no matter how many other drones we tested, it would have been our top choice.
Best camera for video recording: Canon EOS R50 V
Canon launched two vlogging cameras this year to compete with Sony – the critically acclaimed PowerShot V1 and EOS R50 V. The former is a compact camera with a fixed lens, while the latter is a mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses, which earned the EOS R50 V the title of best camera for vlogging.
The EOS R50 V is the most affordable entry-level mirrorless camera. Beyond that, it’s an absolute powerhouse for content creation. Capable of recording smooth 4K/60fps footage and detailed 24MP stills, the EOS R50 V is a powerful hybrid camera.
As it’s a video-focused camera, we really appreciated the dedicated dial on the top panel for switching between different video modes, making it easy to quickly switch between them. It’s an incredibly intuitive camera, perfect for beginners.

Canon’s autofocus system rarely disappoints, and this time around is no exception. Automatic subject detection also means you don’t have to manually switch between animal and people detection, streamlining operation. The EOS R50 V is a significant step forward for Canon, and no other vlogging camera has surpassed it.
