Hello! I’m Yuan Hehe. Please follow me for more exciting content. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra vs iPhone 17 Pro Max comparison
Samsung brought us three new flagship phones last month. The most flagship Samsung is the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, while Apple’s best phone, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, is cheaper than Samsung. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, but both are indeed very good.

You might be struggling to decide which one to buy. But honestly, both phones are worth switching camps for. If you’re going to switch, go for the bigger one! There’s no bigger choice than these two flagship phones, so let’s take a closer look and see which one is the winner.
Coincidentally, our company has the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the latest Android phones, while the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is considered the pinnacle of “latest”. These opinions are based on our previous experience with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, extensive hands-on time with the S26 Ultra, and our knowledge of its specifications.
You should buy an iPhone 17 Pro Max if you meet the following conditions:
1. You are part of the Apple ecosystem
The platform is real, and Apple does it better than most manufacturers. Apple offers a complete ecosystem of devices and cross-device functionality, which is unmatched by most other phone manufacturers (except Huawei). It’s not that Samsung doesn’t have its own ecosystem, but Apple’s devices were designed from the outset to work together. They achieve a level of detail that other ecosystems, including Samsung’s, can hardly reach.

In addition, there is another undeniable factor: if many of your devices are also running on the Apple ecosystem, then you have even more reason to stay in that ecosystem.
Almost every function that an iPhone can perform has a corresponding software alternative, but these are ultimately just stopgap measures. If you want to fully integrate into the Apple ecosystem, you only have one type of phone to choose from.
2. You need a “mature” mobile phone.
If you value a “mature” experience more, then the iPhone remains a relatively safe choice. This viewpoint is frequently mentioned, and there are indeed reasons behind it. Apple typically doesn’t rush to be the first to release features; instead, it prefers to wait until the technology and user experience are mature before introducing them. Therefore, many new features are usually more complete and stable when they are released. In contrast, it rarely releases unfinished features directly to users for “testing,” and its overall pace leans more towards polishing rather than being a first mover.

This approach is also reflected in the app ecosystem. Apple’s review process for the App Store has always been quite strict, which to a certain extent ensures the basic quality and compatibility of apps. In actual use, many users find that the same app performs differently on different platforms: it is usually more stable and usable right out of the box on iPhones, while on Android devices, compatibility issues sometimes arise due to system versions, manufacturer customizations, and other factors.
It’s important to clarify that this doesn’t mean the Android experience is necessarily bad. Rather, its ecosystem is more open, with a wide variety of devices and system versions, making development and adaptation more challenging. Against this backdrop, Apple, through its unified hardware and software system, provides a more consistent and predictable user experience, which is one of the key reasons many users choose it.
3. You are the video creator.
There are several reasons why the iPhone 17 Pro Max is the preferred device for video shooting. The primary factor is storage capacity. Simply put, the iPhone can be equipped with up to 2TB of internal storage, while the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra only supports up to 1TB. 1TB of storage seems large, but if you need to shoot a lot of 8K or even 4K video, that space will quickly be exhausted. This is also a strong argument if you’re a hardcore gamer—because games these days also take up a significant amount of storage space.

The iPhone also offers an excellent video experience. From shooting in the dedicated ProRes Raw mode to shooting in full-frame open mode, if you’re a filmmaker, you’ll need a variety of options, and the iPhone provides a wealth of choices. There are also numerous apps in the App Store for shooting, enhancing, and editing videos.
Of course, there are also apps for Android in the Play Store, but this suite of tools designed specifically for filmmakers makes the iPhone 17 Pro Max a must-have phone for video enthusiasts.
If you want to buy a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
1. You need top-tier performance.
Just two years ago, this title should have belonged to the iPhone category. But things changed when Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor for the Galaxy. Of course, we’re talking about raw data here—Apple still has a significant advantage in user experience and vertical integration, but it’s significant that Qualcomm’s processors have started to outperform Apple in benchmark applications.

Processor performance is crucial when handling video, gaming, and AI applications. If these are your primary needs, Samsung is undoubtedly the best choice currently available.

While the iPhone is undoubtedly a powerful device, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra remains the most powerful phone you can currently buy.
2. You value privacy protection.
Apple has always positioned itself as a privacy-first company, which is certainly understandable. But Samsung is stepping up its game with its Privacy Screen feature, a hardware and software technology that could fundamentally change people’s perceptions of mobile phones and privacy.

Samsung redesigned the screen structure, using a mixed pixel arrangement with wide and narrow viewing angles, and the ability to individually disable specific pixel areas through software to cover screen content.
This feature not only prevents your neighboring passenger from peeking at your text messages, but also, due to its software-driven nature, it can selectively block specific elements on the screen. The entire screen remains bright and vibrant, but when a notification pops up, only the area where it appears will be obscured.
at last
Both phones are absolutely excellent—no doubt about it. But ultimately, if I had to choose, I would go with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. While I do use two phones, and despite valuing the consistency and comfort of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Samsung, and the Android camp as a whole, offers more interesting designs to play with, along with a plethora of accessories to choose from.

Apple devices excel within their own ecosystem, but their compatibility with other devices is mediocre. Android, on the other hand, works seamlessly with virtually any device, from Windows PCs to various smartwatches and Bluetooth accessories. Android phones can connect to virtually any device an iPhone can connect to, and even more.
Of course, as mentioned before, I carry two phones at the same time. But I ultimately belong to the Android camp because I find it more convenient here.
