We were also pleased to find that the S Pen has a grippy feel, so it's easy to hold while navigating, writing, or performing other actions that a stylus can perform. Since it's included with the phone, the end also matches the color you choose, giving it a nice, seamless look.

There's no doubt that this is big phone. 6.8-inch display. Samsung has made the edges flatter this time around, which we found made it more comfortable to hold. The screen itself is gorgeous, though. It's one of the brightest, clearest screens I've ever tested. The refresh rate can be switched from 1Hz all the way up to 120Hz, which is something no other phone can match.

Much like the Z Flip 5, it improves on a product that was already at the top of its field and offers a better experience. That said, it's less changed from last year, with the main difference being a slightly improved hinge that allows it to lay flat.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the best of the traditional phones, but the Z Fold 5 takes performance up a notch by unfolding the bright, sharp 7.6-inch screen. It's designed for multitasking, so if you're worried about creases, don't be. You'll barely notice it after a few days of use.

The camera performance has been top notch so far. It's definitely not on the same level as the Galaxy S23 series, as it shares the same lens as the previous model. However, it consistently delivers good white balance and exposure. The weakest camera by far is the under-screen selfie camera on the larger display.

On top of that, it's full flagship performance. I found that even with the larger screen, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 of the Samsung Galaxy provides the phone with all the features it needs.
