After months of speculation, the iPhone 15 series is finally official. Now with USB-C, the new iPhone is slightly cheaper than we thought, and supports a variety of upgraded designs and materials with predictable tweaks to the camera and processor. We thought it would clash with the Huawei mate60 series, but it turned out to be a surprise, as the Huawei mate 60 Pro was released specifically ahead of schedule.

iPhone 15 Design

The biggest design change is that the iPhone 15 Pro models (Pro and Pro Max) are now made from aircraft-grade titanium. This makes them incredibly durable, as well as incredibly light - according to Apple, they're the lightest Pro models ever made.

All four models feature contoured edges, but only the Pro and Pro Max come with a new customizable action button that replaces the familiar silent mode side switch. As rumored, this new button will let you launch voice memos, launch the camera, use shortcuts, or perform other actions altogether, as you can assign a ton of different functions to it. It should also make it harder to accidentally mute the phone, just like the switch it replaces.

The iPhone 15 Pro model comes in four colors: white, black, blue, and natural. The "standard" iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are brighter - they come in pink, yellow, green, blue and black. Apple has injected color through the rear glass, which has a "textured matte finish".

Like the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus before them, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus don't have ProMotion-enabled Apple Constant Brightness Displays. But they do have a peak brightness of 2000 nits, which should help you see what's on the screen on sunny days.

The 15 Pro has a 3x telephoto zoom, but the Pro Max goes one step further with a 5x optical telephoto zoom with a 120mm focal length and a sensor 25% larger than the 15 Pro.
