Hello, how are you? I am the original huh, click on the attention, more exciting content waiting for you!
Beats has evolved into an audio-focused brand backed by music legends Andre "Dr Dre" Young and Jimmy Iovine, as well as its current parent company Apple.
The electronics giant has undergone some interesting changes over the past few years, especially in terms of the variety of Beats headphones you can currently buy. It stands out. I've picked out the best products the brand has to offer.
Beats Solo 3
The Beats Solo 3 hasn't been properly updated since 2016, but there's still a strong case to be made for being the best in-ear headphone option. It offers competitive audio quality, a thoughtful design that blends style with practical functionality, and better-than-average battery life.
From the quick pairing to the active controls on the left headset, using Beats Solo 3 is a simple and intuitive experience. Once we set them up, we found that the music sounded just as good as the much more expensive headphones.
Most notably, extremely bass-heavy music such as contemporary pop, EDM and hip-hop really showcases how far Beats Solo 3 can push. They also do a great job on the more nuanced genres of music like rock and jazz by providing clarity to multi-instrumental tracks. In addition to music, Beats Solo 3 offers excellent call quality with its beamforming microphone.
With 40 hours of playback time, Beats Solo 3 has the best battery life in its class. A small LED on the headphones gives you a good indication of available battery life, as does the Beats app for iOS or Android. And if your Beats does run out of juice, you can use the Quick Charge feature to get up to three hours of use from a five-minute charge.
With its great sound quality, long battery life and stunning looks, it's no surprise that the Beats Solo 3 can stand on its own without annual updates.
Beats Fit Pro
The Beats Fit Pro retains the classic Beats style, while the packaging is more in line with Apple's AirPods Pro feature set.
The audio quality battery life and comfort of these headphones make them our choice for the best Apple headphones, but having spatial audio capabilities and active noise cancellation is the proverbial icing on the cake.
The Beats Fit Pro is perfect for fitness freaks. Available in four colors, they feature a wingtip design that we've found to stay comfortable and secure for hours on end, and come with IPX4 waterproof protection that's perfect for people who sweat a lot.
The powerful audio quality of Beats Fit Pro is enhanced by the same Adaptive Equalizer feature as AirPods Pro, which equalizes music in real time to ensure you always get a great mix.
To help preserve battery life and sound quality, Adaptive EQ kicks in whenever ANC and transparency are turned off. When turned on, I found that songs sounded louder and brighter. However, when ANC is on, I feel like it suppresses external noise just like AirPods Pro does.
The Beats Fit Pro lasts nearly seven hours on a charge with ANC on, which is one of the best battery lives we've had from any Apple earbud.
They also charge quickly, with Fast Fuel charging and up to an hour of playback on a five-minute charge via USB-C. Thanks to the Apple H1 chip inside, pairing with iOS devices is seamless, but you can still use most of the Fit Pro's key features (including ANC and transparency) on Android.
PowerBeats Pro
For those who are always on the move, PowerBeats Pro strikes the right balance between comfort and a firm fit with its unique ear hooks.
Available in four colors, the sweat-proof headphones give us nine hours of play time, plus a total of 24 hours with the charging case. With a quick charge, a five-minute charge provides up to 1.5 hours of play time.
The PowerBeats Pro has been replaced by the Beats Fit Pro as my go-to fitness headset product due to its more compact design and better feature set, but they are still worth considering for those who want the added security of an in-ear design.
Beats Studio Buds
Those who want noise-canceling technology in smaller headphones at a cheaper price can keep an eye on the Beats Studio Buds. For those who want to hear external audio, there's even a transparent mode, like on the Beats Fit Pro and AirPods Pro.
The Studio Buds stand out in the Beats lineup with the ability to quickly pair Apple and Android devices, and I found their sound quality to be generally strong. These headphones provide us with over 8 hours of continuous listening time and feature Fast Fuel charging to get you back up and running quickly.
If style is an issue, know that Studio Buds comes in a variety of colors, including red, white, black and the recently released navy, sunset pink and moon gray.
Beats Flex
The most affordable audio headphones in the Beats line, the Beats Flex have a lot to appreciate. Available in four colors, they come with magnetic headphones that lock together like a necklace and can even pause or play music, depending on whether they're in your ears or not.
In addition to its unique design, Beats Flex features an estimated 12 hours of battery life, Fast Fuel charging, and the same quick pairing and Find My benefits as other Apple earbuds.
Beats Studio 3 Wireless
As the most expensive audio headset in the Beats line, the Beats Studio 3 Wireless is one of the best sounding headphones I've tested.
This is due in part to their real-time audio calibration technology, as well as noise reduction technology for general music listening and call quality.
The Beats Studio 3's battery life is estimated at 40 hours, which is generally consistent with my own testing. However, I found them to be less comfortable than top competitors like Sony and Bose.
