Hello, how are you? I am the original huh, click on the attention, more exciting content waiting for you!
Are you stumped when it comes to the many choices of noise-canceling headphones? Don't worry - we've done all the homework for you, testing almost every well-known brand and some lesser-known models on the market.
From Sony and Bose, to Apple and Sennheiser, there is a wide array of in-ear and over-ear noise-canceling headphones on the market competing for your choice. Some excel at noise cancellation, while others offer superior sound quality. And then there are those that excel at both. Let's take a look together.
1. Sony WH-1000XM5: The Art of Noise Cancellation at the Peak of Sound Quality
Sony has always been at the top of the noise-canceling headphone game, and the WH-1000XM4 has become one of my favorites. Considering how well this "phone" already performs, one would think that there is little room for improvement. However, in the quest for a superior listening experience, Sony has found an opportunity to improve and take the best of the best to even greater heights.
The new 30mm Carbon Fiber Composite drivers provide greater clarity and accurate sound reproduction. Not only that, but Wel also found that Sony has optimized noise-canceling performance even further, especially at higher frequencies. The Sony Headphones app utilizes the same processor as the Sony WF-1000XM4 headphones, automatically detecting your environment and adjusting settings accordingly.
Of course, there are a few more details to note. While the WH-1000XM5 are still lightweight and comfortable to wear, they no longer support on-arm folding for portability. In addition, they are slightly more expensive compared to their predecessor. However, these minor imperfections are quickly minimized by the headphones' excellent performance: they are the undisputed best choice for noise cancellation by almost all standards.
2. Sony WF-1000XM5: The pinnacle of in-ear noise reduction
That's right, Sony not only excels in the realm of large headphones, but also produces a wireless in-ear headphone that excels in overall noise cancellation - the WF-1000XM5.The sound quality of these headphones is top-notch, presenting tight and balanced audio that is both accurate and pleasing to the ear. The sleek design makes them both comfortable and secure to wear, while the eight hours of continuous battery life is more than enough for most users.
Touch-sensitive controls make operation a pleasure, and the noise-canceling feature is one of the best in wireless in-ear headphones. It also inherits the same "voice chat" feature as its over-ear sibling, providing all the additional features you could possibly need.
The Sony WF-1000XM5 is not only a great sounding in-ear headphone, it's also the pinnacle choice for those looking for a distraction-free music experience.
3. Sennheiser Momentum 4: The golden combination of sound quality and range
Sennheiser's headphones are challenging industry-leading brands such as Sony, thus cementing themselves in a class of their own. While the headphones may keep a low profile and remain almost anonymous, the Momentum 4 stands out with its compelling sound quality and excellent range.
The headphones feature a pair of 42mm full-range dynamic drivers along with eight microphones configured for adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC), wind noise suppression, and clear voice capture. While it can't match the likes of BOSE, background noise is significantly reduced once ANC is turned on. Audio performance is confidently bold and detailed for a pleasurable listening experience, and the impressive battery life is up to 60 hours.
The Momentum 4 is not only a guarantee of sound quality, but also an affirmation of the strength of wireless headphones, providing consumers with another reliable option.
4. Bose QuietComfort 45: The Leader in Immersive Noise Cancellation Experiences
Bose has always led the way in revolutionizing noise-canceling technology, and the QC 45 on-ear headphones are a perfect demonstration of the company's technological prowess and excellence in this field. If you're longing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world, then don't hesitate to choose them.
While we found these headphones to offer pleasing comfort and consistent sound quality, they may not be as rigorous as competitors like Sony when it comes to soundstage performance. Additionally, some features, such as auto-pause and equalizer customization, were not included. Nonetheless, if you're a big fan of Bose, then the QC 45 is still the best choice for you.
These headphones provide an immersive noise-canceling experience that allows you to enjoy your music, focus on your work, or simply bask in the serenity of music away from outside distractions.
5. Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3: The pinnacle of ANC earbuds
The third generation of Sennheiser's Momentum True Wireless in-ear headphones takes a solid step forward from the benchmark of excellence set by its predecessor, cementing its preeminent position in the market for the best Active Noise Canceling (ANC) earbuds. The build quality of these headphones meets the consistently high standards we've come to expect from the Sennheiser brand, and with the reduced size of the 16%, the Momentum True Wireless 3 fit even better in the ear, providing a more comfortable wearing experience.
With the feature-rich app, users can easily customize the touch controls, making operation more intuitive. While the ANC is not adjustable, you can easily switch between standard, transparency and windproof settings.
With the ANC turned on, I found that the Momentum True Wireless 3 almost completely blocked out outside noise while maintaining its much-loved audio balance. Focusing more on sound reproduction than exaggerated bass effects, these headphones present excellent detail and tonal performance.
Despite a battery life that averages seven hours, the Momentum True Wireless 3 is otherwise an undeniably compelling and high-quality headset.
6. Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation): Stylish and lightweight noise-canceling wireless headphones
In terms of raw sound quality, the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) may not be the best sounding noise-canceling wireless in-ear headphones you can find in this price range.
However, they still sound great and feature impressive noise-canceling performance, effectively creating a tranquil listening experience in noisy environments. In addition, their lightweight design makes them ideal for all-day wear.
AirPods Pro offers a reliable connection and a convenient Transparent Mode that lets you hear your surroundings at the touch of a button, so you can sense outside information like subway announcements without having to take off your headphones. For iPhone users, it's all so easy.
7. Sony WH-1000XM4: Highly respected lightweight noise-canceling headphones
Sony's product nomenclature can be a bit cumbersome, but if there's anything that can be proven on this list, it's that the company produces some of the best headphones in the world. Take the WH-1000XM4, for example, which, despite losing its lead to some extent after being overtaken by the WH-1000XM5, is still an excellent choice for most consumers, especially if you can get your hands on it at a discounted price.
Lightweight and comfortable to wear, these headphones provide a pleasurable audio experience. The 40mm drivers benefit from the synergy of Sony's QN1 noise-canceling processor and Bluetooth audio chip. They adjust music and noise control at over 700 times per second, and together with the artificial intelligence-driven DSEE Extreme audio processor, they present balanced and enjoyable music to your eager ears.
The headphones also add a "chat" feature that allows you to easily talk to others without taking them off. These features have earned the WH-1000XM4 headphones a coveted reputation.
8.Bose QuietComfort headphones: Bose's new foray into noise-canceling wireless in-ear headphones
The QuietComfort headphones are Bose's first foray into the noise-canceling wireless in-ear headphone market. We were impressed with the headphones' sleek look, attractive design and comfort, as well as their pleasingly excellent bass performance.
The Bose QuietComfort headphones have a convenient Transparent mode that enhances the superior noise-canceling intelligence, and their app provides 11 levels of active noise reduction.
While the battery life is about six hours per charge, which is respectable performance, it's not optimal. However, carrying the charging case for a total of 18 hours of battery life is not bad, as long as you remember to recharge it in a timely manner.
These Bose QuietComfort headphones mark Bose's new foray into wireless in-ear headphones, offering users compelling features and design.
9. BAUER Wilkins PX7 S2: An Upgrade for Sound Quality and Noise Reduction Experience
The predecessor to the BAUER Wilkins PX7 S2 was on one of our best headphones lists. And this successor proves itself once again as a great noise-canceling headphone that's just fantastic, thanks to a pleasant touch, excellent sound quality, and improved active noise cancellation.
The design hasn't changed radically from the first generation, with the same clever button arrangement remaining on the right earcup. The disappearance of the 3.5mm audio jack leaves USB-C as the only option for wired connectivity.
However, the BAUER Wilkins PX7 S2 remains an inherently comfortable premium headphone. The new 40mm drivers provide consistent, balanced sound quality that is unaffected by active noise cancellation, while battery life remains reliably at 30 hours. The only thing that makes you hesitate? Perhaps the significant place the flagship model PX8 now occupies in the B&W lineup.
10. Apple AirPods Max: The perfect blend of luxury design and superior sound quality
The AirPods Max is clearly a compelling choice for Apple fans who love over-ear headphones. Its beautiful anodized aluminum ear cups, stainless steel headband, and open knit mesh cups are a perfect example of Apple's unique design.
The initial feeling of wearing the Apple AirPods Max is very comfortable, however, after extended use we found that they can be slightly tight as they are slightly heavier compared to many of their competitors. Of course, as head shapes and sizes vary from person to person, the exact experience of the user may vary.
When it comes to performance, AirPods Max will never let you down. Equipped with powerful 40mm drivers and combined with an adaptive equalizer powered by Apple's H1 processor, they produce an excellent soundstage and the noise reduction is among the best in the industry.
However, this luxury experience comes at an extra cost - and the AirPods Max may be a little short on value for money compared to some of its Sony rivals. But if you're an Apple loyalist and can afford the heavier design, you'll be very happy with what you get.
11. Bose 700: Built for Noise Management
The Bose 700 excels in a key area - namely noise cancellation. Featuring 6 microphones, this headset offers 11 levels of noise isolation, perfect for those seeking control of their environment.
Not only that, but if you need to keep an eye on your surroundings or discuss any subtle changes in your parcel area with a member of staff, these headphones also have a sweet feature that allows you to clearly hear the outside world without removing the headphones. Excitingly, not only do these headphones excel at noise cancellation, the sound quality is also excellent, though not quite matching the sound quality levels of Sony or Apple products.
If you need to take frequent calls, this headset should quickly become your first choice. Coupled with the ability to connect two devices at once and excellent voice assistant support, the Bose 700 has many complimentary features.
12. 1More Sonoflow: Affordable and Powerful Noise-Canceling Headphone Options
For those looking for a noise-canceling headset with great features and a comfortable experience, the 1More Sonoflow may be one of the most cost-effective active noise-canceling headphones available today.
At the time of this article, they cost less than $500 and offer powerful and balanced audio with reliable noise-canceling performance to help you get away from the hustle and bustle of your commute. Most notably, they have a battery life of up to 70 hours per charge (with noise cancellation turned off).
Even with noise cancellation turned on, these headphones will last up to 50 hours until you need to recharge them. While the button operation can be a bit cumbersome at times, and the plastic construction is perhaps not as sturdy as other, more expensive options, the 1More Sonoflow is clearly a compelling achievement when you consider the excellent performance offered relative to the price.
13. Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro: smarter noise-canceling headphones
With the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, at first glance you may only notice the matte finish and new color palette changes, however, these tweaks are not just cosmetic touches. Not only have the new headphones been reduced in size, but they also bring improved active noise cancellation.
On top of that, they offer smarter spatial audio, quicker active noise cancellation, and vibrant sonic character presented through AKG tuning. However, it remains important to note that to realize their full potential, it's best to use these headphones with a Samsung phone in your pocket.
For non-Samsung phone users, it's worth noting that you may miss out on the optimal Bluetooth bitrate, as well as needing to manually complete the device pairing process. Nonetheless, in terms of performance, they are still good value for money, especially for those who typically use Samsung smartphones.
