Apple could launch its first VR headset in 2023 along with several other products such as an improved HomePod, 15-inch MacBook Air, iMac, Mac Pro, and more.
Since the company has already completed all of its device releases for 2022, the company is currently working on a new set of products and is likely to launch at least seven new products in addition to the iPhone and iPad in 2023. Here are some of the most anticipated products Apple will likely release next year.
15-inch MacBook Air
The current MacBook Air with M2 is the company's most powerful thin and light mainstream laptop ever. It's speculated that the company could release a 15-inch variant in 2023.
The upcoming 15-inch MacBook Air may feature an M2 chipset, similar in design to the current MacBook Air. To further increase performance, the larger MacBook Air may even offer active cooling.
13-inch MacBook Air
Of the countless new products Apple introduced this year, the M2 MacBook Air is one of our favorites. The sleek 2022 model finally shakes off years of tapered design with a sharp new look and extremely powerful specs. But it'll soon look even better.
According to the latest reports, Apple is working on a new MacBook Air with an OLED display, which would mark a major upgrade since the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air currently only come with mini-LED displays.
As seasoned Apple leakers have claimed, the 13-inch MacBook Air will get an OLED display in 2024, in addition to the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros.
So what's in it for OLED? While we're already impressed with the current MacBook Air's mini-LED display, OLED will offer higher brightness and wider viewing angles - a good thing for creatives.
From greater color accuracy to more responsive refresh rates, this technology improves the workflow of graphic designers, video editors and more.
Reality Pro Virtual Reality Headset
Apple may release its first "Reality Pro" VR headset, which could be the world's most powerful standalone virtual reality headset.
This could arrive as early as January 2023 and is said to have features to compete with the likes of Meta Quest Pro.
Mac Pro with Apple Silicon
The Mac Pro is the only product Apple needs to transition from Intel to the Apple Silicon platform. Apple is rumored to be releasing a Mac Pro with the Apple Silicon M2 Extreme.
It's claimed to offer a 40-core CPU, 128-core GPU, and up to 256GB of unified RAM, making it Apple's most powerful Mac ever.
M3 Driven iMac
Apple may skip the M2-powered iMac and is expected to launch an Apple Silicon M3-powered iMac all-in-one desktop computer.
While there is no exact information on the design and aesthetics, it may look similar to the current M1-iMac and may be available in a variety of colors.
HomePod with screen and Apple TV support
Apple's upcoming HomePod could be inspired by the Amazon Echo Show. It could feature a large display with touch inputs and is said to have a webcam to enable features like FaceTime. Most importantly, the next-generation HomePod could also offer HDMI output and Apple TV-like connectivity.
This makes the upcoming HomePod a versatile product, allowing users to stream movies and shows and even play games through an Apple Arcade subscription. With all those features, this could be a lot more expensive than the current HomePod. But it's pretty much irrelevant to the country.
Next Generation HomePod
In addition to the HomePod with display, Apple is said to be launching a regular HomePod that will be similar to the recently discontinued HomePod, but with better audio features.
According to seasoned Apple leakers, the new HomePod will be powered by the S8 chip and will likely go official in the first quarter of 2023.
