Hello! I’m Yuan Hehe. Please follow me for more exciting content. Huawei Pura 90 Ultra concept leaks
Reports suggest that Huawei may launch its next-generation imaging flagship, the Pura 90 Ultra, in the first half of this year. A recently leaked concept image has also attracted attention. Judging from the design trends, this model may make some continuations and adjustments to its appearance, and may even return to a more familiar design language.
Meanwhile, leaks about the camera’s imaging structure are also increasing. A Weibo post indicates that Huawei is testing a flagship prototype equipped with a telephoto lens and a multispectral sensor, which many interpret as a possible resurfacing of the retractable camera design. Considering that this structure can improve optical zoom capabilities within a limited body space, its return is not impossible.
Judging from its past product development, Huawei has been quite proactive in exploring imaging technology, with almost every flagship model attempting to introduce new directions.
Based on current leaks, if the Xiaomi Pura 90 Ultra ultimately adopts a retractable camera design, it’s more likely to achieve a new balance between telephoto capabilities and image quality. However, this information is still in its early stages, and the specific details will require further confirmation.
The Huawei Pura 90 Ultra may return to a flip camera design.
A leaker online claims that the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra is testing a 1-inch periscope telephoto camera equipped with a 200-megapixel sensor. Interestingly, the leaker also adds that the company plans to add a new teleconverter and multispectral lens to the phone, sparking speculation about two possibilities.
First, the company may be testing a professional photography suite for the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra. This seems to be a trend among brands like vivo and OPPO these days. Second, Huawei may equip the Pura 90 Ultra with a retractable camera lens, just like the Pura 70 Ultra did in 2024.
Camera and robust body
To recap, the company removed the retractable lens concept from the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra last year. Therefore, if this leak is true, it would be a return to that concept.
Reports indicate that Huawei is testing a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera for its upcoming flagship model. Furthermore, the company may equip this sensor with a retractable lens to enhance its performance. However, all of this is currently speculation, and Huawei has not confirmed any information. Therefore, please remain cautiously optimistic.
Furthermore, the source added that the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra will feature a flat display and a metal body for improved durability. Previous leaks indicated that the phone might have a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1-inch sensor and a variable aperture.
Huawei Pura 90 Ultra concept images showcase horizontal camera design
A concept image of the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra has recently circulated online, revealing some potential design changes for the new phone. Compared to the previous Pura series designs that tended towards vertical or triangular modules, this design seems bolder, with an overall style closer to a horizontally extended layout, somewhat resembling the design language of the iPhone’s camera lens.
Judging from the leaked images, the upper back of the camera features a long, horizontally oriented camera area that extends from the right to the left, creating a more visually striking effect.
This design is significantly different from the triangular protrusions of the previous Pura series, and is also somewhat similar to the horizontal layout that Huawei has tried in other product lines before.
However, the arrangement of three large lens rings is still retained inside this horizontal module, but the overall structure is slightly stretched to one side, presenting a new combination form.
In terms of layout, the three lenses are concentrated on the left side of the module, while the flash, small sensor and XMAGE logo are distributed on the right side, making the overall division clearer.
The brand logo remains in the lower left corner of the back of the phone, continuing Huawei’s consistent design approach. The power button and volume buttons are also located on the right side of the phone, with slightly rounded corners and a relatively thin bezel, giving it an overall slim and minimalist look.
It’s important to note that this concept image doesn’t show the front design, so it’s currently impossible to confirm whether the device will include features like 3D facial recognition. Given that there’s still some time before the new phone’s release, the design may still be subject to change, and more details will have to wait for further announcements.
