Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra CAD renders have surfaced. The front view remains familiar, with the body轮廓 showing minimal difference from the S26 Ultra, but the back tells a different story.
Samsung might ditch the individual lens setup this time, opting instead for a more prominent unified camera module. At first glance, it does evoke the iPhone 17 Pro, but upon closer inspection, the design actually resembles Honor’s approach for some models—it’s not as simple as Samsung copying Apple directly.
The size change is minimal. Current CAD data shows the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra measures approximately 163.76 × 78.25 × 7.97mm, while the S26 Ultra is 163.6 × 78.1 × 7.9mm—essentially the same footprint.
The exaggerated part is the camera bump. Including the camera module, the thickest part measures approximately 12.53mm, making its presence on the back far more noticeable than the S26 Ultra.
The camera hardware cannot be conclusively determined based on the renderings just yet. The S26 Ultra’s 5x telephoto lens uses a 1/2.52-inch sensor, while the 3x telephoto remains at 10 megapixels. Whether the new module will bring adjustments to the telephoto setup is still speculative, and even rumors of “removing the 3x telephoto” cannot be confirmed.
The S Pen is still there, and the corresponding position can still be seen in the rendered image. So this time, the S27 Ultra isn’t a complete overhaul of the entire phone; the changes are mostly concentrated on the back. Whether this new camera module will just be a cosmetic change or will also come with adjustments to the imaging hardware is actually more worth watching than the design itself.
When will the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra be released?
The Galaxy S27 Ultra currently has no confirmed release date. This year, the Galaxy S26 series was delayed until February 25th for its launch, breaking the pattern of previous years where releases were typically concentrated in January. Therefore, speculating based on the old timeline next year holds little significance.
I personally still lean more towards late February. If Samsung still wants to unveil the Galaxy S27 series before MWC, the week of February 22nd would indeed be a smoother choice.
Of course, at this stage, this can only be considered speculation. With the release still some time away, Samsung could very well adjust their timeline. If we had to give a range right now, I’d focus on late February 2027.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Specifications: Battery and Camera Finally Getting Updates
The rumored specifications of the Galaxy S27 Ultra currently suggest that the processor is almost certain to be Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship platform, temporarily referred to as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Both LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0 were previously rumored to be included, but recent updates are less optimistic—Samsung might stick with the current solutions. The screen is expected to remain at 6.9 inches, with a centered punch-hole design on the front. The body dimensions are approximately 163.76 × 78.25 × 7.97mm, not much different from the S26 Ultra.
What’s really interesting is the battery. The rumored capacity is around 5700mAh, which is a notable improvement compared to the 5000mAh of the S26 Ultra. As for whether silicon-carbon batteries will be used, there isn’t completely consistent information yet, so this part shouldn’t be finalized for now.
The camera setup might also undergo readjustments. The main sensor is rumored to be the 200MP ISOCELL HP6 with a sensor size of approximately 1/1.3 inches, while the ultra-wide lens could be upgraded to a 50MP Sony IMX855.
A more significant change lies in the telephoto department. The 10MP 3x telephoto lens might be removed entirely, leaving only the 50MP 5x telephoto option. The latest CAD renders show only three primary camera cutouts, making this rumor more plausible than before, though it’s still not confirmed.
The S Pen remains intact
The S Pen is unlikely to be axed this time. Based on the latest CAD renders of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, the S Pen slot is still visible at the bottom left corner of the device. Since Samsung already removed Bluetooth functionality from the S Pen years ago, many have worried about its continued existence. At least from the exterior design, the S Pen appears to be staying.
The camera bump remains disappointing. Including the lens module, the thickest point of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra measures approximately 12.53mm, with a still prominent rear protrusion. Many had hoped the new camera platform would improve stability when placed flat on surfaces, but this issue seems far from being fully resolved.
How much will the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra cost?
The price of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to be less than friendly. This year, the starting price of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra in China has already reached 9,999 yuan, and now, rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra suggest another price increase.
Recently, the cost of memory and storage has remained relatively high, and the prices of many flagship models have already started to rise this year, so it’s not surprising that Samsung continues to increase prices.
However, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is already priced at 9,999 yuan, and going any higher would face significantly greater pressure. Whether the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is ultimately worth its price still depends on how much the battery, camera, and overall upgrades improve. If it’s just a routine chip upgrade with another price hike, it would be really hard to convince people.
