Hello! I’m Yuan Hehe. Please follow me for more exciting content. OPPO Find N6 review
What surprised me most about the OPPO Find N6 wasn’t how thin the body was, but rather the control of the crease on the inner screen. When unfolded, the crease in the center of the screen is very shallow, and it hardly affects the viewing experience when watching videos, reading, or processing documents. This is what truly sets it apart from other large folding phones.
Many people are waiting for Apple to release a foldable iPhone, even believing that this category will only truly take off when Apple enters the market. But in my opinion, innovation in foldable screens has never belonged to just one brand. Before Apple officially made its move, Android manufacturers had already pushed the boundaries of thinness, hinges, and screen experience several times over.
The Find N6 is a prime example. It didn’t just rely on a larger screen to attract attention; instead, it further addressed the most significant user experience issues associated with foldable phones. While it may not become the undisputed best foldable phone simply because of its larger screen, the Find N6 already possesses the potential to challenge the top tier. Before Apple’s foldable screen even appeared, OPPO had already brought a large foldable design closer to a mature product.
design
In terms of appearance, the OPPO Find N6 doesn’t deliberately pursue exaggerated changes, and the overall style still follows the design philosophy of its flagship phones. The circular camera module on the back is very recognizable, and the combination of alloy frame and glass material makes it look more like a regular high-end phone than a bulky foldable device.
Once you actually use it, its most obvious advantage is its slimness and lightness. The Find N6 is about 8.93 mm thick and weighs about 225 grams when folded. Although it still feels heavier than a regular candybar phone, it doesn’t feel bulky at all, and it fits more naturally in your pocket.
It also boasts IP56, IP58, and IP59 dust and water resistance ratings, offering better protection against rain, splashes, and accidental water ingress than many previous large-folding models. However, this doesn’t mean it can be used underwater without worry for extended periods; its true value lies in everyday protection.
Of course, what impressed me most was the inner screen. When unfolded, the crease in the middle was very shallow, and it hardly affected the picture when viewed from the front. The undulation when swiping your finger across the screen was also significantly reduced. Strictly speaking, it is not completely crease-free in a physical sense, but it is one of the closest to “imperceptible crease” among large folding screens currently available.
Display screen
The Find N6 features a 6.62-inch external screen and an 8.12-inch foldable internal screen. The external screen has a resolution of 2616×1140 and supports an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz. Its aspect ratio is similar to that of a regular candybar phone, so you don’t need to frequently unfold the phone when replying to messages, watching videos, or taking photos.
What truly sets it apart is its 2480×2248 resolution inner screen. When unfolded, it’s nearly square, providing ample display space for watching videos, reading documents, or running multiple applications simultaneously. More importantly, the crease in the center of the screen is very subtle, barely noticeable when viewed from the front, and only a slight undulation is felt when running a finger across it.
OPPO calls it “zero-feel crease,” but I think that’s a more accurate description than “zero crease.” The crease hasn’t completely disappeared physically; it’s just that the visual and tactile presence has been greatly reduced through the second-generation titanium alloy hinge, 3D liquid printing technology, and automatically flattening flexible glass.
This improvement, while not as eye-catching as a higher resolution, truly solves the most long-standing problem affecting the user experience of foldable screens. The Find N6’s inner screen is still not perfectly flat, but it’s close enough to the viewing experience of a regular tablet, making it the most convincing upgrade for the entire phone.
performance
Performance is not a concern for the Find N6. Equipped with a fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra and ample memory, app switching is smooth, whether in normal phone mode or with the inner screen open for split-screen and multitasking. Noticeable lag is rare during daily use.
Its advantages go beyond just high benchmark scores. Foldable screens often require running multiple apps simultaneously, or watching videos while processing messages, scenarios that place higher demands on performance and system scheduling, which the Find N6 handles with ease. It also handles demanding games and image processing without significant strain, delivering overall performance befitting a flagship device.
Compared to some models specifically tuned for their processors, it may not have an advantage in every test, but these subtle differences are difficult to detect in real-world use. For me, the Find N6 is more about combining powerful performance with a large-screen experience than simply pursuing higher test scores.
Camera
The Find N6’s imaging approach differs somewhat from the Find X9 Pro. It places a 200-megapixel main camera, paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto lens. The main camera emphasizes resolution for everyday shooting, while the telephoto lens handles both distant scenes and close-up shots, resulting in fairly comprehensive overall coverage.
In actual shooting, the clarity and color of daytime images are very stable, and the main camera retains more detail in architectural, landscape, and portrait scenes. Low-light performance also reaches flagship level, with shadows not easily blurred and highlights suppressed naturally. Hasselblad colors and filters add a touch of style to the photos, making it easier for those who like retro or film effects to capture atmospheric images.
While telephoto lenses do produce more shareable images when shooting the moon or distant scenery, high-magnification zooms reveal noticeable algorithmic processing artifacts. I prefer to view it as a practical recording function rather than a standard for judging true optical capabilities.
Both the inner and outer screens feature a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. However, the truly useful aspect of a foldable phone is the ability to take selfies directly using the rear main camera. With the outer screen preview open, the 20-megapixel main camera delivers significantly better image quality, with portrait details and background depth noticeably superior to a standard front-facing camera. This is a real advantage of the Find N6 in terms of shooting experience.
Battery
The Find N6 features a built-in 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is quite rare for a slim and lightweight folding phone. The advantage of silicon-carbon technology is that it allows for a higher capacity without significantly increasing the thickness of the device, and it also overcomes the common problem of weak battery life in folding screens.
In actual use, although it has 1500mAh less battery than the Find X9 Pro with its 7500mAh battery, the difference in battery life isn’t as significant as the numbers suggest. With normal use of the external screen and occasional use of the internal screen for watching videos or processing documents, it easily lasts about a day and a half, and may even last longer with light use.
Of course, battery life will still be affected by screen usage habits. Prolonged use of the 8.1-inch inner screen for navigation, photography, or gaming will definitely drain the battery faster; if you mainly use the outer screen, the performance will be closer to that of a regular flagship smartphone.
In my opinion, the Find N6’s battery life is already at a level where you can go out with peace of mind. Charging it once every night is of course the safest option, but even if you temporarily forget to charge it, you won’t quickly fall into battery anxiety, which is quite remarkable for a large folding phone.
Summarize
OPPO has accumulated several generations of product experience in the field of large foldable phones, and the Find N6 feels like a true upgrade that represents a mature step in this direction. It doesn’t just pursue thinner and lighter designs, but rather improves the actual user experience by addressing issues like creases, battery life, performance, and imaging.
Especially the inner screen, with its almost imperceptible crease, makes it feel more like a real small tablet. When closed, the outer screen can be used naturally like a regular phone, and the switch between the two forms doesn’t feel like it’s being made to accommodate the folding design.
Of course, it’s still not a flawless product. The weight, internal screen power consumption, and the inherent barrier to entry for the large folding mechanism still exist, but these issues no longer significantly impact the overall experience. Compared to many models that only excel in one particular parameter, the Find N6’s advantage lies in its greater overall refinement.
In my opinion, the Find N6 is currently the most noteworthy foldable phone. It may not be suitable for everyone, but if you really need a device that can function as both a phone and a tablet, it has indeed done a good enough job.
