Apple introduces the new Apple Watch Series 8, with new features especially for women's health. The new Apple Watch replaces the Apple Watch Series 7 and features a number of new features in addition to a style that is remarkably similar to its predecessor.

Focus on Women's Health

Apple Watch Series 8 is the direct successor to Apple's last top-of-the-line wearable device. The temperature sensor created to enhance the tracking of women's health is very new.

According to Apple, sensors on the bottom of the watch and directly below the touchscreen can detect temperature changes as small as 0.1 degrees Celsius. Temperature, heart rate and cycle log data can be used to track anomalies and alert the user. In addition, the entire data is encrypted end-to-end and can only be accessed by password or biometrics.

Crash detection

Advanced Crash Detection is another new safety feature that comes with Apple Watch Series 8. Series 8 includes two new accelerometers and gyroscopes that measure the force of frontal, side, rear and rollover crashes. The detection is available for pickup trucks, SUVs and passenger cars.

Apple claims that all crash detection data is stored only on your watch. If Apple Watch determines that a user has been involved in a serious accident, the safety feature will automatically notify authorities.

Improved battery life

The 18-day battery life on Apple Watch Series 8 doesn't appear to be an improvement over earlier models. With Apple Watch, Apple is offering a low-battery mode for the first time that extends battery life by up to 36 hours.Low-power mode is accessible on Watch Series 4 and higher models running watchOS 9.

Design Upgrade

In terms of design, Watch Series 8 looks similar to Watch 7, but with smaller bezels and a larger display.

Series 8 will be available in two finishes: stainless steel and aluminum. In addition to silver, gold and graphite in stainless steel, the aluminum and stainless steel colors will include midnight, star, silver and product red. The dimensions will be the same as for Series 7, namely 41 mm and 54 mm.

Other minor upgrades

Series 8 will also support international roaming, 18 hours of all-day battery life, and a new low-power mode that extends battery life to 36 hours on a single charge.
