Samsung’s latest Galaxy S series flagship phones have been officially unveiled, including the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26+, and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. As the flagship of the year, this generation of products has been upgraded in performance, imaging, and functional details.
The full review is still in progress, so we cannot provide a final purchase recommendation at this time. We will update the review with more detailed information as soon as the actual experience and testing are completed.
Below, we will first outline the main differences between the three models in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series based on the currently released official parameters and configurations.
Design: A unified family-style appearance
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series continues the mature family style. All three models feature a rounded rectangular body and straight edges, making them highly recognizable.
Regarding the imaging module, Samsung made minor adjustments to the arrangement of the rear cameras. Some lenses adopt a pill-shaped arrangement, and the overall visual style is somewhat similar to the design concept of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, making the back look more unified.
In terms of size, the three phones are clearly positioned. The Galaxy S26 is the smallest in the series, measuring approximately 149.6 × 71.6 × 7.1 mm and weighing about 167 grams, making it relatively thin and light. The Samsung Galaxy S26+ is positioned in the middle, measuring approximately 158.4 × 75.9 × 7.3 mm and weighing about 190 grams. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the largest model, measuring approximately 163.4 × 78.1 × 7.9 mm and weighing about 221 grams.
The Ultra version still features the S Pen stylus for convenient note-taking, drawing, and fine-tuning. Regarding the body material, Samsung uses a protective aluminum frame across the entire S26 series. For screen protection, the Galaxy S26 and S26+ are covered with Gorilla Armor glass, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra upgrades to Gorilla Armor 2 glass, offering further improvements in scratch and impact resistance. All three phones have IP68 dust and water resistance.
In terms of color options, Samsung offers the Galaxy S26 series in four standard colors: black, cobalt purple, sky blue, and white. Additionally, two exclusive online color options, Silver Shadow and Pink Gold, are available, providing more choices for users who prefer a more personalized look.
Display sizes: Small, medium, and large screen options available
In terms of screen configuration, all three models in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series use a flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and support a maximum adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz.
The Galaxy S26 features a 6.3-inch screen with a resolution of 2340 × 1080. The higher-end Samsung Galaxy S26+ boasts a 6.7-inch screen with an upgraded resolution of 3120 × 1440, further enhancing display detail and immersive experience.
The flagship Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 6.9-inch display with the same 3120 × 1440 resolution. This generation of Ultra models incorporates a new Privacy Display technology, which limits the screen’s viewing angle, making the image darker or less visible when viewed from the side, thus reducing the possibility of others peeking at the screen content.
In addition, Samsung has included an upgraded Pro Scaler image enhancement technology in this generation of devices. This technology uses algorithms to optimize low-resolution content, making the image closer to the screen’s native resolution.
Processor: Next-generation flagship performance platform
All three models in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series are equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The new platform offers significant improvements in several key performance metrics. Specifically, NPU (AI processing unit) performance is improved by approximately 39%; GPU graphics performance is improved by approximately 24%, performing better in demanding games and graphics rendering scenarios; and overall CPU performance is improved by approximately 19%.
In terms of memory configuration, all three models in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series come standard with 12GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra also offers a 16GB RAM version.
The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ offer 256GB and 512GB storage options, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra also offers a 1TB version, which is more suitable for users who need to store a large number of photos, videos or large applications.
Camera: Ultra has significantly higher image specifications.
In terms of imaging configuration, the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Samsung Galaxy S26+ use the same triple-lens rear camera setup. Specifically, it includes: a 50MP main camera (f/1.8 aperture); a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.2 aperture); and a 10MP telephoto lens (f/2.4 aperture).
In comparison, the flagship Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra boasts a significantly stronger imaging system. It features a quad-camera setup: a 200MP main camera (f/1.4 aperture), a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens (f/1.9 aperture), and two telephoto lenses—the 50MP periscope telephoto lens (f/2.9 aperture) supporting 5x optical zoom, and the other 10MP telephoto lens (f/2.4 aperture) supporting 3x optical zoom.
Samsung stated that thanks to the larger aperture design, the Ultra model’s 200-megapixel main camera receives approximately 47% more light than the previous generation, while the 50-megapixel telephoto lens receives approximately 38% more light, resulting in better image brightness and detail in night scene shooting and low-light environments.
Regarding the front-facing camera, all three phones retain the same configuration as the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, featuring a 12-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.2 aperture). For video recording, all three models support up to 8K 30fps video recording.
Battery and charging: How is the battery life?
In terms of battery life, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series largely continues the battery configuration approach of its predecessor. The Galaxy S26+ is equipped with a 4900mAh battery, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra continues to use a 5000mAh battery, primarily targeting heavy users.
In contrast, the smaller Galaxy S26 has an improved battery capacity, increasing from 4000mAh in the previous generation Samsung Galaxy S25 to 4300mAh.
In terms of charging speed, the specifications vary slightly between different models. The Galaxy S26 Ultra supports up to 60W wired fast charging, a further improvement over the previous generation Ultra’s 45W, and also supports 25W wireless charging. The Galaxy S26+ supports 45W wired fast charging, and its wireless charging power is increased to 20W, an improvement over the previous generation’s 15W. The standard Galaxy S26 has a wireless charging power of 15W.
Which Galaxy S26 is right for you?
When choosing a phone, the most important thing isn’t how high its specifications are, but whether it truly meets your usage needs. The Samsung Galaxy S26 series offers three models with different positioning, so you can choose based on your own usage habits.
If you’re looking for the most powerful and fully-equipped flagship experience, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is undoubtedly the best choice. It not only boasts a more powerful imaging system but also offers up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, making it the highest-spec model in the entire S26 series and ideal for users who demand higher performance, photography capabilities, and productivity.
If you prefer a smaller phone that’s easier to operate with one hand, the standard Galaxy S26 would be a better choice. Compared to the other two models, its more compact size makes it more convenient for everyday carrying and use.
If you’re looking for a larger screen but don’t particularly need the S Pen stylus, the Samsung Galaxy S26+ might be a more balanced option. It boasts a near-Ultra-sized screen, while its weight and price are relatively more affordable.
