OnePlus folding phone early exposure: high brush screen + August listing, Samsung folding "dangerous"

One of the more authoritative analysts has leaked the release dates for the OnePlus Open foldable phone and the OnePlus 12, telling us that both phones will be available by the end of the year.

So far, it's no surprise that the first OnePlus foldable phone is coming soon. Renders of that OnePlus foldable phone have leaked, revealing its impressive design.

Another report detailing the phone's supposed specs suggests that it will share some internals with the OnePlus 11. There are also rumors about its release timeline, but leaks on the web provide more specific details about when the foldable phone will be released.

Most of the key details of OnePlus' first foldable phone have been revealed. It will feature a book-like design similar to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, with a 120Hz internal foldable screen measuring 7.8 inches. As for the external display, it will measure 6.3 inches and feature a wider aspect ratio than Samsung's foldable display.

Other rumored specs include a 4800mAh battery, 67W wired charging, an alert slider and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. While the foldable phone seems to carry Hasselblad branding, it won't come with the same camera hardware as the OnePlus 11. The main and ultra-wide-angle cameras will allegedly come with 48MP sensors, as well as a 64MP telephoto camera.

Things are a bit iffy on the OnePlus foldable phone (possibly called the Open, but previously known as the OnePlus V Fold.) OnePlus hasn't launched a foldable phone yet, but given how well its sibling Oppo has done with the Find N2 and Find N2 Flip, OnePlus is hoping to have everything it needs to build a great phone Help.

OnePlus confirmed that the foldable phone will return, but didn't elaborate further. Rumors later surfaced that it would use a massive 8-inch internal display and a powerful Hasselblad camera, which should allow it to compete with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 for the top spot on our list.

Meanwhile, in another message, the more authoritative analyst tells us that the OnePlus 12 will be available by the end of the year. This matches the timing of OnePlus' recent release, which saw the phone hitting the domestic market first.

There isn't a ton of official or other information about the OnePlus 12 yet. But looking at the history of OnePlus, it should be a great smartphone, with the latest OnePlus 11 being one of the best phones on the market today.

With the OnePlus 12's signature upgrades becoming a periscope telephoto camera and 150W charging, OnePlus has a chance to reach even higher on the charts.

Adding this feature and hopefully some other enhancements will allow it to challenge the expected iPhone 15 and Samsung Galaxy S24 series phones in terms of overall quality and value for money.
