Hello, how are you? I am the original huh, click on the attention, more exciting content waiting for you!
Samsung has always been the leader when it comes to the best Android smartwatches, and for the past year, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 has been the watch to beat.
If you're looking to buy a new Samsung watch, we'll analyze all the significant differences between the two models in detail and help you decide which one is best for you.
Design & Display
When comparing the two watches, the look and feel of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and the Samsung Watch 6 Classic are the most significant differences and probably the most important factor when deciding which watch you want.
As I've already mentioned, the Samsung Watch 6 Classic has a larger case size - a full 3 millimeters larger than its Watch 6 counterpart - but it also feels heavier on the wrist. This comes not only from the size difference, but also from the material difference.
While the standard Samsung Watch 6 has an aluminum case, the Watch 6 Classic is made of stainless steel (a heavier metal). It gives the Watch 6 Classic a more traditional look and feel than the Watch 6, which looks like a modern, generic smartwatch.
Another major change to the Samsung Watch 6 Classic is the rotating bezel, a fan favorite feature that some will be happy to see return after its absence from last year's Watch 5 lineup. The physical rotating bezel is certainly a premium touch, and if it's anything like it was on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, navigating the menus will feel great.
The non-Classic Watch 6 may not have a rotatable bezel, but it does mimic that feature by using a touch-sensitive area around the screen.
Finally, despite the different case sizes, the displays remain unchanged. Both the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic come with a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 432 x 432 on the smaller models (40 mm and 43 mm).
At the same time, the larger versions of each watch (44 mm and 47 mm) are equipped with a 1.5-inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 480 x 480. Each model, regardless of its size, features an always-on display protected by a sapphire crystal lens.
batteries
The battery life of the similarly sized Galaxy Watch 6 models remains consistent. Note that both the 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 and 43mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic come with a 300mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the 44mm Galaxy Watch 6 and 47mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic come with a slightly higher capacity 425mAh battery. But size doesn't tell the whole story.
Despite the size difference, Samsung has rated all Galaxy Watch 6 models for up to 40 hours of battery life without the always-on display running. If you do enable the feature, it takes about 30 hours.
This year, the series has a slightly larger battery than previous versions and Samsung has lowered its claims. One thing we can say with a fair amount of confidence is that your mileage will vary greatly depending on how you use the watch.
Lots of motion tracking or reliance on GPS may ensure you charge your watch every day.
Software and health tracking
If you just want to keep using the standard Galaxy Watch 6, the good news is that you won't miss out on any critical software or health tracking features, as both devices can perform all the same operations.
Both the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic come fully equipped with the same health sensors and are capable of tracking the same parameters such as activity levels, heart rate, sleep quantity and quality, and body fat percentage.
Whether you prefer to track your workouts automatically or manually, both watches have you covered. All health data collected is securely stored in the Samsung Health app, ensuring maximum security and privacy.
The new generation of Samsung smartwatches features a new processor: the Exynos W930. this is the first time this new chip has been unveiled, so it's hard to say exactly which areas of the watch will perform better, or if it will have a noticeable impact on the end-user experience.
However, in theory, the new chip combined with 2GB of RAM should allow the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic to perform tasks slightly better. There's no change in storage, however, with all models of the Galaxy Watch 6 coming with 16GB.
Which one is right for you?
The differences between the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic are very minimal, so it really depends on your preference for materials and appearance rather than the performance or features of any device.
Because of this, we recommend the standard Galaxy Watch 6 to most people because it does everything you want a smartwatch/health tracker to do, and it's cheap.
Of course, the only way to get the cool rotating bezel and stainless steel construction is to go with the Watch 6 Classic, which is a quality watch as long as you can live with the price increase.
