In my tests, I used Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro for photo editing and video editing respectively, and even when dealing with multiple 8K raw videos, this laptop handled it with ease. There's no need to wait for render previews; you can add effects immediately and preview them instantly, which greatly improves productivity.

I think the main drawback to the 16-inch MacBook Pro is its high price. If the features you need aren't available at that price, there are other options that are less than half the price of the base 16-inch model.

In my tests, the Ryzen 7 5500U achieved impressive performance scores. It showed itself to be superior compared to those 2-in-1 devices with the high-priced Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor.

The Envy x360 15 is also well ahead of the ThinkBook 14s Yoga in terms of rendering time. so I think the Envy x360 15 is a great choice for those on a budget but with creative needs.

Best 4K video editing laptop: the Dell XPS 17 (2022)

While the 2022 model of the Dell XPS 17 may be similar in appearance to last year's model, its specs have been significantly upgraded for a faster, more efficient workflow. If you're looking for a 17-inch video editing laptop, then the Dell XPS 17 is definitely an excellent choice.

This laptop is not only satisfying in terms of performance, but also in terms of design and build quality - it's no exaggeration to say that it's full of premium features. Its body and screen cover are made of machined aluminum, while the palm rest is made of carbon fiber, which makes it extremely comfortable even for long hours of use.

This laptop is powered by the vibrant M2 chip, and the base model comes with an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage. If you do large-scale editing, you may want to consider upgrading the model.

The one I'm reviewing comes with a powerful 10-core GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage, which is one of the more admirable configurations for content creation. Although this is an ultra-thin laptop with a smaller screen size of 13.6 inches (with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,664), that's what makes it so appealing.

In my time with the MacBook Air, it has been a great performer. I edit 4K home movies in iMovie and the improved performance of the M2 chip makes everything very smooth. In addition, the MacBook Air is lightweight, portable, and virtually noiseless.

If you're on a budget, the previous model may offer better value for money. If you're looking for a more portable upgrade option, it may make more sense to upgrade to the comparably priced 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Best laptop for video editing and gaming: Alienware X14

The base model comes with a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050, while the higher-end model bumps up to 32GB of RAM and comes with a 2TB SSD.Through my testing, I can unequivocally state that, "For tasks like photo and video editing that require a lot of CPU processing, this laptop is easily up to the task."

However, it is not without its faults. Overall, the speakers perform well, but not at an exceptional level. Slight design flaws cause it to be more like a 15-inch laptop than a 14-inch in size. I also criticized its battery life and moderate 720p webcam.

Overall, I really like the 14-inch 1080p display with an excellent 144Hz refresh rate and average brightness of up to 377 nits.

For seasoned video editors and professionals, this laptop is definitely an option worth considering.

Portable, reliable performance laptop: Thunderbird Spirit Blade 14

The Thunderbolt Blade 14 is a laptop that's "a beautiful little piece of hardware with excellent build quality" and "fun to use." It maintains the iconic Blade chassis design in durable black aluminum with an RGB keyboard, continuing the unique look of previous iterations.

The 14-inch 1440p screen features up to 100% DCI-P3 color gamut reproduction, making it a smart choice for video and photo editing. In my use, I was impressed with the incredible color density and contrast clarity, providing an excellent tool for content creation.

Internally, performance with the RTX 3070 Ti GPU is quite good, although it's not as good as the desktop version of the GPU. performance with the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU isn't too bad either, although it's a little less impressive when comparing it to Intel's rival i9-12900H.

This video editing laptop runs quietly, has an extremely fast SSD, and has excellent battery life - it lasted nearly 8.5 hours in my tests.

However, the keyboard on this laptop feels a bit constricted in a way, so it may take some getting used to if you plan on doing a lot of text input work. Also, the RAM is fixed by soldering and cannot be upgraded internally. All in all, the Thunderbird Spirit Blade 14 is a powerful video editing laptop with excellent gaming capabilities.
