Hello, how are you? I am the original huh, click on the attention, more exciting content waiting for you!
The DJI Air 2S has been on the market for a long time and is the smallest and lightest drone available with a one-inch sensor and a staggering weight of 595 grams. The drone is also capable of shooting up to 5.4K video as well as 4K video at up to 60fps, which puts the DJI Air 2S ahead of the Mavic 2 Pro when it comes to video.
One downside to the DJI Air 2S, however, is that the camera has a fixed f/2.8 aperture, so there's no way to control the exposure when the drone is in the air other than to change shutter speeds and ISOs, making the need for a set of ND filters crucial for video shooters.
The DJI Air 2S model is still great. The overall image and video quality is excellent and offers everything you need for both beginners and full-time professionals. Now let's take a look at it.
Design
In terms of basic design, the DJI Air 2S is extremely similar to the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, albeit in a smaller, lighter package. The propeller arms fold up for transportation and unfold for flight, with the forearms swinging outward and the rear arms rotating downward. The build quality is very good and all moving parts feel sturdy and reliable.
The DJI Air 2S boasts impressive portability, weighing just 595 grams and measuring 7.1 x 3 x 3.8 inches folded and 7.2 x 3 x 10 inches unfolded. Of course, the extra unfolded dimensions are just extended propeller arms; the drone body stays the same, so it remains very small in both configurations.
The controller ditches the folding design of the Mavic 2 Pro in favor of a fixed size and a larger battery, resulting in better battery life overall. But instead of attaching the phone to an arm at the bottom of the controller like the Pro, the controller uses telescoping grips at the top to support the phone. The joystick unscrews to fly and can be stored in a rubberized section on the bottom of the controller.
functional
Flying the DJI Air 2S is made extremely easy and safe thanks to the front, rear, bottom and top obstacle sensors, which use binocular zoom technology to recognize objects further away for greater efficiency. Then there's the Advanced Pilot Assist System (APAS) 4.0, which can be set to stop the drone or automatically fly around, under or over obstacles as they are detected to maintain smooth and continuous flight.
The DJI Air 2S also comes with AirSense, which uses ADS-B aeronautical technology to pick up signals from nearby airplanes and helicopters and display their locations on an on-screen map in the DJI Fly app. There's also the GEO 2.0 geofencing system, which helps keep the drone out of restricted airspace around locations like airports.
These features, combined with GPS positioning, hold the drone in place while hovering so it doesn't get blown away by the wind. And there are a variety of auto-flight modes and subject tracking modes that allow anyone to take sophisticated videos, which can be found in the "Quick Snapshots" section of the app.
The DJI Air 2S has a maximum flight time of 31 minutes, which is impressive considering the smaller battery, although in a real flight a more realistic expectation would be for the flight to last around 20 minutes. Using the most power when flying in Sport mode, the drone can reach speeds of up to 68 kilometers per hour, just a little slower than the larger and more powerful Mavic 2 Pro.
Other flight modes include Positioning Mode (P), where all sensors are active, and Cinema Mode (C), where speeds are limited and controls are less sensitive to capture cinematic video footage.
manifestations
The DJI Air 2S camera comes with a 20 MP one-inch sensor, a full-frame equivalent focal length of 22mm, a fixed aperture of f/2.8, and a focus range of 60cm to infinity.
ISO controls of 100-12,800 are available for still images and 100-1600 for video. In terms of noise handling, the Air 2S offers in-camera processing, even for Raw files, but it does produce good results, where noise only becomes noticeable at ISO 6400.
In terms of image quality with a fixed 22mm equivalent lens, the resulting image is sharper in the center and less sharp around the edges, although this is common in most consumer drones, so overall this is not a major issue.
Despite being equipped with a fixed lens, the Air 2S also features a digital zoom that allows you to get a closer look at the action without the drone getting too close, which is very useful. However, the maximum setting you'll want to use is 2x, as image quality naturally decreases the more you apply it - up to 4x in 4K and 8x in FHD.
For still photography, you can shoot in Raw, JPEG, or both; for video, you can shoot direct-from-camera footage using standard color profiles, professional-quality Raw footage using D-Log (10-bit), or HDR (10-bit) in HLG format.
